Main task - similar products - blog task 13 - Magazine.

In one of our lessons we have looked at magazines and how they are used within media to sell other products. I have looked at the front covers of magazines and also at some articles that are inside of them and deduced what a magazine is made up of.

Above is what i believe is important to add into a front cover of a magazine. Many of these parts that i have picked out can be found on many different magazine covers as we can see below:

I have also picked out what i believe should go into an article in a magazine as well.

All of the items that i have chosen to highlight in this can be seen contained in articles of existing magazines:

Main task - Diary entry six.

I have choosen to film at the location of Hinchingbrooke national park. This is because there are wide open fileds that can be used as the trainning grounds. There is the access to wooded areas and also a small, wooden hut that could resemble the place in which the soldiers eat and sleep. To be able to do the other scenes all i need to find is a bedroom and a office that would co-anside with this location.

This is the center that could be used as a base.

This is one of the fields that it could be possible to use.

These are the woods that could be used for some of the scenes.

Radio Trailers

I have chosen not to do the radio trailer, however i will answer the questions as to show that i could do the item if necessary.

How will you put this together?
 - I would put it together by adding all the aspects of the above mind map in the way in which would create suspense and tension. This would be done through building up a few of the key elements at a time and then adding in a voice over to make it more exciting and also to add in information to the audience that can't actually see anything in front of them.

Using what technology?
I would use such things as final cut to be able to make sound clips and also to be able to import sound clips as well.

Will it require any during production?
I would need to add in sound effects and a voice over.

How effective do you think this will be?
I think that it would be advertisied to a wider target audience and that it is showing that my film is diverse as it has many different ways of advertising.

How will it attract your target audience and identify who your target audience will be?
It would attract my target audience as they would be able to be targeted when they are on the move into work or school. This would therefore subconciously allow for them to think about the film and be able to recall it when asked about it. It will identify my target audience as it will be played at specefic times that they would be listing and also it would be on set radio stations that they would be more likely to be listing too.

Where will you broadcast it and why?
I would broadcast it on radio stations such as heart or kiss. This is because these are the stations that the age group is most likely to be listned to but they also are the ones that play adverst between the pieces of show.

Post production needs.

As the genre of thriller is a more technical type then to create the best film of my ability i will need help to be able to access certain effects that i do not already know how to do. These include:

Sound effects:- print works, cars going up and down in the street, soldiers marching, soldiers training, clock ticking, wind/rustling through the leaves in a wood, phone ringing.

Colorizing:- changing what could be filmed into the day to look like it is at night but still being able to see the picture, a colour that would be useful to show that it is a flashback scene.

Special effects:- to show that we have gone back in time (like the way it is done in Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone when Hagrid is telling Harry about the night his parents died).

Main task - pre-production - Research

As my film is based upon the army and because of the themes that are within the story line then the date will be most relevant to that of the 1980's. So therefore i need to research into the way that they would dress and words that they may have used then and not now.

As you can see from the picture on the left the jackets in which the military would have worn were plain dark green with badges that corresponded to that of the person wearing it.
The trousers appear to be plain and smart, this corresponds with the shirt.

To make my film look as authentic as possible i will need to get my actors to wear clothing as similar as possible to that they would have worn.
